Bloomberg is the leading source of data, news and analytics for financial and legal professionals, corporations, media organizations and private individuals around the globe.
Markit BOAT Data will be available on the BLOOMBERG PROFESSIONAL® service and the Bloomberg B-Pipe and server API.
How to access Markit BOAT™ on Bloomberg
The BOAT venue code is ‘XB’, and the BOAT reference page is EXCH BTXB<GO>. BOAT will be included in the Bloomberg composite ticker. The composite ticker venue code is ‘EU.’
For example, Vodafone equity ticker will be as follows:
- VOD XB <Equity> AQRC <GO> - combination of all trades reported on Vodafone. This will include BOAT and other exchange venues.
- MOST XB <GO> - most actively traded shares reported to BOAT.
- VOD QM <GO> - aggregated list of all venues reporting trades on a particular security.
- VOD XB <Equity> MQ <GO> - Systematic Internaliser Quotes.
The currency will only be added to the ticker code if the OTC trade has been reported in a currency which differs to the currency of the primary ticker. For more information on Bloomberg’s MiFID ticker logic, go to MIFI<GO>.
How to order Markit BOAT™ on Bloomberg Professional ®
To order MarkitBOAT™on the Bloomberg Professional ®, simply hit the HELP key (F1) twice. This opens an instant message window where end users can type in their request. This will be directed automatically to Bloomberg’s Exchange Contracts Department who will advise the user know as soon as they are permissioned to BOAT content. Alternatively end users can contact the Exchange Contracts Department by dialing their local Bloomberg number (available on the Bloomberg ‘cancel’ screen) or by using the contact details provided on the BOAT exchange record EXCH BTXB<GO>.
