Vice President, Equity Index Production
Role Summary
The individual will work within the equity index team to improve and strengthen the structures for the daily calculation and publication of client’s bespoke baskets to allow for the increasing amount of indices rebalanced, calculated and published on a client’s behalf on a daily basis. The role’s responsibility will include internal stakeholder management (index design, development, sales), consultation about the implementation of processes following the transition of a new bespoke product from the index design team to the daily production and supervision and regular revision of operational processes to ensure accuracy of the data.
The position requires experience in the production of equity indices, management of client relationships as well as technical knowledge about the implementation of corporate actions and external feeds for equity pricing and other index inputs.
Duties and Accountabilities
The individual will implement solutions for the daily calculation of new bespoke equity indices and manage long term client relationships following handover from the index design team. This will include specifying production/IT requirements and software testing, building a production environment also enforcing additional quality checks as well as knowledge transfer to other members of the production team.
A detailed technical knowledge of equity indices as well as strong technical skills are required. The individual will be part of the index production team and will work closely with index design and technical teams.
Business Competencies
- Quantitative studies, such as math, engineering, finance or a science.
- Experience in producing equity indices, implementation of corporate actions and dealing with external feeds for pricing and other index inputs.
- The individual is expected to be a strong team player, with proven track-record of working with people that are not functionally tied to them.
- Experience in managing long term client relationships
- High degree of commercial awareness.
- Needs to be motivated by commercial impact.
- We need someone who is detail oriented enough to build high quality, superior products, but commercial enough not to be lost in the detail or unable to go on with the next task.
