Vice President/Director, Product Manager, Connex - New York City
Role Summary
Markit Group Limited (“Markit”), the leading provider of independent data, portfolio valuations and OTC derivatives trade processing to the global financial markets, seeks an experienced business manager.
Markit Connex is a real-time, secure communication tool combining interoperable instant messaging, discussion forums, content distribution, alerts and directory services for financial service firm.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills in business management, product management with a financial sector background.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Responsible for the P&L of the Connex product, including product development, pricing, sales strategy, and client support
- Implement longer term strategic product plan based around client needs
- Drive revenue through sales team members and effective implementation of product strategies
- Integrate Connex within all Markit’s product and service offerings
- Drive product implementation through technical team members to meet product deadlines.
- Work with IT operations to ensure product meets uptime requirements
- Approve new systems releases ensuring thorough testing and rollout to customers.
- Prepare budgets, review progress to budget, and make adjustments to plans
Business Competencies
- Experience in e-commerce or research roles in financial services preferably the sell side or buy side
- Experience in consortiums and building consensus among financial service firms 3 or more years experience as a product manager
- Experience in strategic and product marketing gained within a corporate environment including multiple offices and global influences.
- Credibility and presence to influence and impress at senior levels at dealers
- Master’s degree (or equivalent), MBA preferred
- Experience managing, recruiting, developing and inspiring a high calibre team
- Ability to manage technical development and operations
- Ability to manage sales or direct have sales experience
- Ability to understand and evaluate business models and commercial issues quickly
- Ability to deliver results within deadlines
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
- Able to build consensus in broad community of interested parties
