Associate, Credit Data Analyst

Role Summary

With the ever-increasing breadth of Markit’s suite of products, we’re looking to expand the Credit Data Analyst team. Supporting with Markit’s core data products and database, the new team member is responsible for the client support related to a wide array of fixed income and credit product areas including bonds, CDS, credit indices, tranches, loans, and loan CDS. The position is located in London. Travel is occasionally required to support the products but is not expected to be significant

Duties and Accountabilities

Combining high-level analytical skills with knowledge of fixed income and credit markets, the successful candidate will:

  • Conduct analytics on large and diverse derivative pricing datasets
  • Provide secondary level of support to all client institutions
  • Interact with clients and contributors to develop and maintain strong relationships
  • Identify opportunities to maintain and improve the operational efficiencies of the data collection, processing and reporting framework
  • Support the development of new data products.

Business Competencies

  • TitThe candidate must possess a minimum of an unundergraduate degree or equivalent in finance, economics or mathematics.
  • CaCandidates should have a high level of proficiency in Excel anand Access – VBA and SQL experience are desirable.
  • We are looking for individuals who are detail-oriented, thorough, and use own initiative to solve problems. Given the constant evolution of credit derivatives products and markets, candidates should be interested in finance, in particular continuous learning about credit and fixed income markets.
  • Understanding of the financial markets and in particular the credit markets

Personal Competencies

  • The Data Support role relies upon clear communications both internally and externally. A key competence of the team is therefore communication skills. .
  • As a member of a close knit, effective team, team skills are paramount in this role in assisting others, being able to be relied upon and in taking leadership where required.
